Icons Tell a Story in the Brain

Using icons to tell a story is nothing new and it’s one of the oldest communication types in the world. Whether it’s cave drawings depicting humans, weapons, and animals; your first computer desktop or iPhone; or describing a complicated financial procedure. Sometimes the big-picture is best explained in graphic form.

Remove the complicated definitions and show what it is.

The route taken for the financial process was broken into 7 simple steps to get the user to understand that their money was in secure hands throughout the process, they had visibility through the process, and it would be returned or reinvested at the end of the process. They decide.

This was then scrolled through a promo video with voiceover quickly explaining each step. And it was used on the website as a jQuery slider.

Either way, a picture is worth a thousand words.
